Post-Weight Loss Body Contouring
Following bariatric surgery, patients will lose a variable amount of weight. Those patients who lose a significant amount of weight may find that they encounter a new problem: excess skin with hanging skin folds especially over the abdomen, arms, thighs and breasts. This is not merely a cosmetic problem: skin folds get abraded easily which  could lead to recurring skin infections.
A variety of techniques exist to remove problematic, unwanted skin folds. These include:
  • Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck)
  • Belt lipectomy
  • Thigh and buttock lifts
  • Brachioplasty (arm lifts)
  • Breast lifts (with or without augmentation/reduction)
Bridge Bariatrics focuses on bariatric (weight loss) surgery – we do not perform body contouring procedures. However, our clinic is located in a Joint Commission International (JCI)-accredited, multi-disciplinary medical centre and we will refer patients who wish to have these procedures to trained and accomplished plastic surgeons.
